1950\'s LANE CEDAR CHEST

• Mid Century Modern style hope/blanket chest -Mfg date 11/30/1956
• Near perfect condition. (No scratches, broken corners, chunks of wood missing, pieces glued, painted over finish \"fixes\" or anything that would detract from its look or value. However, since it isa vintage piece of furniture, if you look really hard and are overly discriminating, you probably can find a flaw or two. So I say that it is \"near\" perfect, not \"absolutely\" perfect. There is nothing that would make you say \"Oh poop!\" after you purchase it.The only thing that I note is that two of the wood risers on the bottom side have been removed so the chest can roll up flush to rises in a floor. (Yes it has wheels.) If somebody wanted to put these back on, why I do not know, it could easily be done by even the least crafty craftsman and be completely undetectable as they are on the bottomof the chestfacing the floor and the wood is unfinished. No tricky color matching or wood crafting needed.
• Inside a foldaway shelfautomatically rises asthe lid opens and the original felt is still perfect.
• The chest is marked at the bottom Style #7041-29.Serial # 650311
• The outside has a beautiful blonde finish.
• Chest is in excellent-perfect vintage condition.
• Due to safety regulations the chest has had all or part of the lock latch mechanism removed so that the chest cannot latch with a child trapped inside. Lane will provide at no charge a new \"child safe\" lock assembly for the asking for any Lanefull size chest manufactured between 1912-1987due to the original lock assembly automatically latching when closed and risking thatchildren can become entrapped.Please see additional disclosure below.

Per the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), full size chests manufactured between 1912-1987 need to have their locks replaced due to the fact that the original locks automatically latch shut when closed and children can become entrapped. I prefer that this item be picked up in the Ventura - Los Angeles area. I travel throughout southern CA often and may be able to meet e and can be picked up.If you would like this item to be shipped please visit TSC moving to make sure that they service your area and they get a quote online. If they do not service your area, you may want to contact Greyhound Bus Lines. The item will be shipped from 91360 Thousand Oaks, CA. The packaged dimensions will be 20 x 22 x 46. The weight will be 50 lbs. I will add $25 for packaging materials. I am not a business and do not have these materials around; and, it will take me about 5 days to go to the store to get the materials, build the crate and drive this item to a shipper. If you need the item shipped please do not use PayPal until I generate an invoice as there is no shipping option for this sale.
