these arethe ultimate tubes for a leslie amplifier,from leslie,matched by leslie,my personal spares,what i\'ve always used in my own leslie 145,a perfectly matched set of tubes from leslie with perfectly matched sets of 1 % resistors feeding them will last for years,the tubes in my leslie are still perfect from 1969and i have two spare sets,i\'m 80 years old now and not playing professionaly any more so i can let one pair go to some lucky person.these tubes are primarily for use in a leslie,the reason it\'s crucial to be perfectly matched,most leslie users run the leslie full volume,the speakers are more enclosed than a regular amp,it\'s hard to compete with other instruments,when it\'s wide open like that everything has to be perfect or the distortion is extreme,that\'s why cheap tubes don\'t work,leslie used a speciallydesignedoscilloscope to match their tubes,i see people useing a tube tester and they call their tubes \"matched\",you can come close but it won\'t work in a leslie all you\'ll get is distortion.foreign tubes are downright dangerous,i used to repair musical instruments for 7 music stores,i\'ve had brand new russian tubes explode,short out and destroy transformers without even blowing the fuses,i would never trust any foreign tubes in my leslie.before you buy tubes for your leslie,look at the tubes getter (the shiny part inside the tube) a new and good tube tube will have nice shiny getters,if the tube\'s getter is discolored,tan,grey,white and not like a mirror,the tube is used,old and possibly no good,it takes years of use for the getter to look so bad.
