Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner (PTAC) and Heat Pump (PTHP)units are widely used in the hospitality and health care industry. But homeowners and business owners should know PTAC/PTHP units are smart heating and cooling options for apartments, condos, office, retails spaces and even large houses. PTAC/PTHP units are all-in-one heating and cooling systems that do not require ductwork. They install through the wall, which is why they are often referred to as \"thru-the wall air conditioners.\"

The Midea PTHP uses energy-efficient heat pump technology to provide air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter. Heat pumps use up to 30 percent less electric energy compared to standard air conditioning and heating.

Compressor Protection:Automatic changeover turns off the compressor and turns on the auxiliary heater when the outdoor temperature is to cold for proper functioning of the heat pump. Three-minute compressor restart delay allows for equalization of the refrigerant pressure to prevent short-cycling. In heating mode, the compressor and electric heater are automatically turned off once the indoor air supply temperature becomes too high.
