Antique1926 Chelsea 6” Ships Bell Clock and Barometer Set
1926Chelsea 6” Ships Bell Clock in silicone bronze chromed case with 7-1/4” screwbezel and 7-3/4” back flange. Has The Scribner & Loehr Co. Cleveland on thesilvered dial with Arabic numbers. Onthe back of the clock is stamped the Serial #164776 and embossed with ChelseaClock Co. Boston USA Patented Dec 31, 1901 No. 689899. Winding key included.
Chelsea6” Compensated Barometer in silicone bronze chromed case with 7-3/4” backflange. On the back of the barometer isstamped the Serial #226 and embossed with Chelsea Clock Co. Boston USA PatentedDec 31, 1901 No. 689899.
Theset is mounted on what I believe to be a factory teak board which measuresapproximately 32” L x 12” W.
Ihave owned this set for 10 years . Ithas been installed on my 50 foot yacht which is now for sale so is no longerneeded. The clock was sent to Chelsea in2011 for a complete overhaul of the striking movement and repairs to theescapement at a cost of $691.25 (receipt available). The clock keeps excellenttime and the barometer functions smoothly.There are no scratches or chips in the glass of either the clock or thebarometer. The chrome coating on the cases of both the clock and barometer isworn due to age.
