This wonderful desk/hotel/ call bell is highly decorated. On the 3 feet, are heads of angels or cherubs. Around the base are medallions and scroll work, and at the bottom edge is beading all the wayaround.
It is signed Deponirt-Germany. Deponirt is a term used in Germany, Switzerland & Austria. It is based on the French \"deposer\" and states that the item has been locally registered at a civil court in the region in which the manufacturer resided. Such registrations were common between 1840 and 1875. It also has the number 56/(slash)
