This sculpture by Basilio for Capodimante tells a great story. Here you see an elderly man with his rifle and faithful companion, his dog. In his satchel he has his catch of the day, some type of fowl. Every detail is articulate, which almost brings this piece to life. His fingers look so real, as do the flowers on the base. The rifle strap is made of leather to give an authentic look. Even the hat has rips and tears to shown how worn it is. There is a number on the base by the artists signature and Capodimonte logo. I tried to it research to see if this was a limited and numbered edition, but did not have success in finding that out.
