\"Decided To keep\" Lycoming 0-435-1 Airplane Snowplane Engine Cessna Piper Bell :
$1995.00

This listing is for a Lycoming 0-435-1 flat 6 cylinder airplane engine. This came out of a snow plane I bought back in 1976 or so. This was probably outside here in relatively dry Montana for a while before I bought that snow plane but I have no idea how long that might have been. This was outside here for about 5 years before I removed it from the snow plane and stored it in inside for the last 30 years or so.
I have no history or log book for this engine other than what I mentioned above. It has never been stuck since I have owned it. It still turns over fine and has even compression on all 6 cylinders. The propeller hub on the front of this engine had a Banks-Maxwell wood pusher prop on it when I bought the snow plane many years ago. The propeller seems to have grown feet and left because I have not seen it for many years and have no idea where it might be or if I still have it.
I may have removed the carburetor so this engine could lay on it\'s bottom surface. It appears that the carburetor is laying loose on top of the engine in these photos. It looks as if I taped up the top and bottom openings of the carburetor to keep it clean. Having done that, I suspect that I also taped up the opening on the bottom of this engine where the carburetor mounts.
I am now 63 years old and the priorities in my life are changing. I no longer have any interest in repairing the home built snow plane this engine came in or in owning any snow plane at all for that matter. I hope to list the home built snow plane and 2 wheel trailer it came on here later this fall.
I hate to ship this fragile engine using commercial truck freight. I have a lot of friends in the collectible car, truck, tractor, toy and sign hobbies that are traveling throughout the country this time of year. One of them may be able to economically and safely deliver this engine to you depending on where you life and how soon you need it. According to Wikipedia, this engine weighs around 450 pounds.
I also have 1 very complete and assembled Lycoming R-680 radial engine, one Lycoming R-680 engine missing 3 cylinders and enough loose parts to build 2 or 3 more Lycoming R-680 engines. I plan to list them here on when things outside slow down this coming winter. I had planned to remove the accessory drive from the back of one of those engines, restore the outside of the exposed parts and then make a support to lay the engine on it\'s back. I would then have a glass shop cut a large round piece of glass with a large hole in the center and place that glass ring over the cylinders of the engine to make a very interesting coffee table.
Thanks a lot, Bob Woodburn - phone [phone removed by ] in Bozeman Montana USA
