Here we have a beautiful Mid-Century Italian-made lamp, produced by Compodimonte around the 1950's. It is porcelain and brass, with ornate feet and base. The porcelain body has been hand-painted green and white, with lovely gold gilding embellishments and floral designs. It also features panels with processions of Italian women in pink, yellow and purple dresses, all slightly different with varying poses and hair styles. There are cut-outs decorating the porcelain even further. A very ornate, interesting, and lovely mid-century lamp that is sure to get attention!
The lamp weighs 4 lb 2 oz, stands 29 inches tall to the top of the decorative shade knob, and is 7 inches wide. The harp detaches easily and will be removed and place alongside the lamp in the box during shipping to keep package dimensions and shipping costs down.This lamp does not come with a shade: Most people want to choose a shade that matches their home décor, and including a shade nearly triples the packing and shipping charge, which is a bad deal for the buyer. It did not come with an original shade anyway, as all of these lamps had shades which degraded easily and did not survive the nearly 80 years the rest of the higher quality lamp parts did.I often accept reasonable offers.
