Here\'s a nice JBL LE14A 8 ohm woofer like I used in my personal custom speakers for 4 years. The replacement foam surround has degraded to the point of crumbling and needs to be replaced. This is a common repair and I have done many others, but am not doing this one as the surround is special and not part of my current stock. The price reflects this work. I did test it and it plays fine and sounds good.
Cosmetically, the black crinkle paint and white cone look good and solid. There are a few scratches, some light discoloring near the leads to the voice coil and the painted JBL logo missing off the label. The JBL  was partially there but the acetone I used to remove some tape residue also removed the orange printing.  It\'s a nice example of a nice speaker.JBL is one of the classic names in audio and their components are highly sought for replacement, restoration, and custom applications. I\'ve built my own DIY speakers from JBL components and daily recognize the quality that this vintage drivers have. If you\'re looking for great sounding components, this set deserves your serious consideration, don\'t let it get away!!
