Peter Max was invited in 1989 by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to create the first of his Grammy paintings which was made into a collectible poster commemorating the Grammy Awards. This Grammy was painted in 1991 and the image was used for the same. Overall Max has done 5 Grammy images for the Academy.
