I received this from a friend from Japan though he had it here in the US. I have lightly used it and the sound and quality is impressive, better than some of my newer Yamaha units! I have too many receivers in my life and need this one to go. I don\'t know too much about this receiver but it seems to be built with good components and is a true Made in Japan high quality receiver. It was certainly advanced for its day. The unit also includes various Dolby features and other features typical of AV receivers. I believe these units were first sold in 1990. Unit is sold as is. It sounded great out of the two main channels I used when I last used it.
