Very Rare Civil War Era V.W. Brinckerhoff Amputation Set With Military Latches For Sale

⭐⭐THIS SET DID NOT COME FROM GETTYSBURG AND I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS EVER AT THAT BATTLE,I HAD TO BRING A FEW OF MY SURGICAL SETS THIS YEAR WHEN I WENT AND DECIDED TO TAKE A FEW PICS OF MY SETS NEXT TO CIVIL WAR HOSPITAL SIGNS />

Very rare Van Wyck Brinckerhoff amputation set.Set is missing 2 tools. It came with other tools but I removed what didn't belong and put in what did. Has double military style latches. Every tool in this set has a Brinckerhoff mark. Set is also missing the tourniquet divider and the lid divider panel which is usually where the address is. One screw is missing on the brass knife/scalpel divider (See pic)It looks like the original lid plaque was removed and was replaced with an ivory or bone one. There is a name and a date on the plaque but it is very hard to make out, it looks like C.L. LOCK maybe and a date of 1858/9 or 1888/9. ( I can try and get better photos of it upon request). Also a green felt was added to the bottom of the set. This set is very similar to the other Brinckerhoff set I have listed, you can see them side by side in one of the last photos. All tools have wear consistent with age and use with some rusting and stains on them. This set is listed in Brinckerhoff's 1859 catalog (last pic) Any questions or if you need more photos just send me a message.
