You are looking at an AstaticJT-30Ceramic harp microphone manufactured by The Astatic Corporation during the 1960\'s.
Pic # 2 is from an old catalog I have showing the mics characteristics.
As you can see in the pictures provided thisJT-30 micis ingood original condition with some very slight discoloration on the original paint. The chrome on this mic is very nice with the mostly tiny pitting. The black screen is perfect as is the Astatic label.
The original ceramic element had given up on life as it no longer works but these elements can be easily replaced as I have done quite a few conversions myself. This piece however would make a nicedisplay piece in any vintage microphone collectiondespite the signs of wear.The threads for both the cable and stand are in perfect condition. This JT-30 is pocket size which makes it easy to grasp while playing an instrument.
The original JT-30 desk stand is included and it has the same amount of wear as the mic. The stand itself is detachable as seen in pic # 10. Kind of a cool feature. The base has zero dents and the original rubber gasket will keep the mic from scratching any surface it may rest on. Iwould rate the cosmetic condition of this JT-30 a conservative 7 on a scale of 1 - 10.
