This is a wonderful Italian majolica figurine featuring two playful canaries perching on flowering branches featuring gorgeous ceramic leaves. The white base of the piece has elegant scrollwork and extruded clay "grass"-- sometimes called "spaghetti." The hand-painted underglaze surface of the piece is soft and rich. This piece is in wonderfully nice condition.
