Used but works and sounds amazing. Pioneer was top dog back in the day and the SA-6500 proves it. Their low end model nothing fancy but the design and build quality is top notch. Easy to work on and designed to last for ever. That is with some new parts and testing this unit is excellent. Electrolytic capacitors replaced a good cleaning and it will see another 50 years. The black metal cabinet has some oxide spots. Not bad for a unit this old.Power output: 25 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo)

Swapped one of these in place of my approx 10 yr old Yamaha Natural Sound Rec/Amp. This Pioneer blows it away.
The Loudness and Tone \'boost\' add a richness and no distortion boost to the over-all sound - I leave them on all the time, otherwise the amp sound a bit too focused on the high-end to me.

A great piece of amplifier! beautiful vintage look and full bodied sound. I have mine (version mkII) fully working in AAA conditions playing with B&W 606 s2 Anniversary Edition in biwiring, it is just amazing!! The speakers just fly with it! only 30 watt on paper one can argue... but they are much better than many 100 watt modern amps, believe me or... believe your ears if you have the chance to give a listening to it!

Very capable little amplifier featuring Pioneer\'s beautiful silver face layout. Spartan and efficient at 25 watts per channel this little guy will drive most speakers thrown at it. A real classic and a joy to look at especially when paired with the TX-6500 tuner. Don\'t hesitate to add the SX-6500 to your collection.

Fantastic little Jap amplifier with smooth clear sound.
Owned since 1978, still goes strong.
