The item had a manufacturing defect. The table surface of the 12" disc would not align with the disc because of a machining mistake. I was able to correct it by removing the castings from the base and reaming out two holes to allow the table to align. The 12" disc also rubbed on the guard behind it. I was able to insert a cutting blade (Sawzall) between the disc and the guard while the disc was powered by the motor. The blade cut the interfering metal from the backside of the disc. All told, it required 2 men to repair due to the weight of the castings and 4 man-hours to correct.
