YES, it is the "Japanese" model. GUESS WHAT...It IS the U.S. model -- with instructions in Japanese The display and remote are in English. The 12V converter is universal (as in it works here in the U.S.A). The built in DAC is equal to or better than the Rotel in my music room. This thing is amazing through NIKKO equalizer, Woo Audio WA6 tube amp and Audeze LCD-XC headphones.
