RARE 1968 Schwinn Sting-Ray Fastback – October '67 Build – Campus Green:
$2400.00

The Real Deal

Up for grabs is a killer survivor: a 1968 Schwinn Fastback in original Campus Green. This bike was manufactured in October 1967, making it an early-production model for the iconic '68 lineup. This isn't a "parts bike" or a cheap reproduction; it’s a high-spec, authentic piece of muscle bike history that still looks absolutely rad.

The Technical Specs (For the Collectors)
  • The Frame & Date Code: Serial number confirms an October 1967 production date, placing it perfectly at the start of the '68 model year. The Campus Green paint is in great shape, still showing that deep, flamboyant translucent finish that only the vintage Chicago Schwinns have. Even the original pinstriping on the forks has survived.
  • The Shifter: It’s rocking the classic serrated Stik-Shift 5-speed console. The chrome is clean, and the throw is tight—shifting exactly like it should.
  • The Rare Lighting Setup: This is the big one. It has the full generator lighting package—bottle dynamo on the rear running the chrome bullet headlight. You don’t see these complete and mounted very often anymore.
  • The Cockpit & Seat: Correct Ape-Hangers set high for that aggressive profile. It’s paired with the Silver-Glitter "Slik" saddle, featuring the original rear nameplate and the high sissy bar.
  • Rolling Stock: Original Schwinn S-6 chrome rims (20 x 1 3/8"). These skinny wheels give the Fastback its signature "sprint" look compared to the standard heavy Sting-Rays.
Bottom Line

I’ve done the homework on this one—from the October '67 build date to the rare factory generator setup, I know exactly what this bike represents. It’s a beautiful, mechanical time capsule.

Whether you’re adding it to a high-end collection or looking for the cleanest vintage rider on the block, this bike is ready to go. Serious inquiries only—don’t miss out on a genuine '68 survivor.
