Rumor has it that this card is the straw that broke the camel’s back.
After AEG decided to drop production of all their CCG’s in 2008 to focus on board games, it was announced that the Warlord: Saga of the Storm brand had been licensed to Phoenix Interactive in Germany for the production of 4E (4th Edition) for 4 years.
While the game had some innovative & positive changes under their management, by all accounts: it was a bumpy ride.
As a result of a variety of issues, the rights for the production of Warlord products were not renewed by PI in 2011, so Warlord was discontinued. There was never official confirmation, but the general word on the street was that AEG had always wanted Warlord to be a ‘family friendly’ brand, and for them, nude cards were a red line that went contrary to that vision. A second nude card had been slated for production, but was never printed or released to the public.
While Warlord is now finally in production again with Kingswood games, you can be certain that this nude card (and nothing like it) will ever be reprinted again, so now’s your chance to grab a rare, unique part of Warlord history.
