The document is handwritten and signed by Union Ordnance Commander R.H.K. Whiteley, ordering Lieutenant J.A. Chaffee to proceed to Columbus, Ohio, for temporary duty under Captain Bradford. Whiteley is a highly sought-after name among antique firearms collectors; his \"RHKW\" inspector cartouche stamps are famously found on prized martially-marked Civil War revolvers and weapons.
