Scarce 19th-century firsthand captivity narrative recounting Larimer's experiences following the 1864 attack on an emigrant party in the American West. The original edition contains 252 pages and illustrated plates, including the frontispiece portrait of Larimer shown in the photographs.
Original brown cloth hardcover with elaborate gilt decoration and lettering to spine. Binding remains attractive, with the gilt still quite strong. Exterior shows expected age-related rubbing and wear, particularly at the spine ends and corners. Pages show toning and occasional age spotting/foxing. Interior appears generally clean and well preserved for a book more than 150 years old. Please review all photographs carefully for condition and contents.
