The reverse is considerably brighter, retaining a largely silver-white appearance with golden peripheral toning and subtle blue and violet accents near portions of the rim. The eagle, breast, wings and wreath remain sharply defined, and the changing angles shown in the photographs and video do a much better job of revealing the coin's luster and color than any single straight-on image.
This is exactly the type of Morgan that works well in a collection built around original character and attractive toning rather than uniform blast-white coins. The combination of remaining mint luster, peripheral color and the popular 1888 Philadelphia date gives it plenty of display appeal.
