Offered here is a 1913-S Barber Dime, graded Very Good (VG). Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this silver dime comes from the closing years of the Barber Dime series, which was issued from 1892 through 1916.

Designed by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber, the obverse features Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap and laurel wreath, surrounded by UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, with the 1913 date below. The reverse displays ONE DIME within an agricultural wreath, with the “S” mintmark identifying production at San Francisco.

The San Francisco Mint struck just 510,000 Barber Dimes in 1913, making the 1913-S a notably low-mintage issue within the series. Each was struck in the traditional U.S. coinage alloy of 90% silver and 10% copper, with an original weight of approximately 2.50 grams and about 0.0723 troy ounce of actual silver weight.
