The title page states that the book includes an introduction by the Most Rev. John Ireland, Archbishop of St. Paul, and was published in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1913 by B. Herder.
The copyright page includes the 1913 Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur, along with the copyright notice credited to Joseph Gummersbach.
The book retains its original green cloth hardcover binding with gilt lettering on the front. It has a simple, attractive early-20th-century appearance and would make a nice addition to a collection of antique Catholic books, religious history, sermons, or church literature.
The book is in good antique preowned condition overall. The covers show age-related rubbing, light discoloration, surface wear, and wear along the edges and corners consistent with a book more than a century old.
