The original handwritten identification on the mount records:
- Horse: “Bark” — finishing 2nd to “O’Hurry”
- Owner / Trainer: Vincent Cicero
- Jockey / Rider: C. Wahler (Charlie Wahler), noted as “up”
- Track: Garden State Park
- Date: August 15, 1944
Dimensions: Approximately 12 3/4” wide x 10 7/8” high overall, including the original mounting board.
Condition
The black-and-white photograph remains in very good vintage condition for its age, with strong contrast and a clear image. There are some light surface marks and minor age-related wear.
The original presentation board shows age toning, discoloration, edge and corner wear, small nicks and general handling wear consistent with an item more than 80 years old. The reverse has a visible area of old moisture/water staining along the lower left corner and edge. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
