A fun vintage card of one of baseball’s most enduring characters, this 1958 Topps #77 Don Zimmer captures “Zim” during his playing days, long before he became a familiar face in dugouts and front offices. This VG+ example has corner wear and small creases at the top left and bottom left. The card is also off centered, with the condition details giving it plenty of honest vintage character.
Don Zimmer enjoyed a long and colorful baseball career that stretched far beyond his playing days. As a player, he spent a dozen seasons in the majors with the Dodgers, Cubs, Mets, Reds, and Senators, and was part of Brooklyn’s 1955 World Series championship club. Zimmer later became a highly respected coach, manager, and baseball executive, eventually working with numerous clubs and earning a reputation as one of the game’s most beloved baseball lifers.
