Up for sale is this Mid-Century Laminate Top Aluminum Group Side Table w/ Pedestal Base. Stands 19" high with a 24"x24" top. This Contract Base was produced by Eames for Herman Miller in the 1960s. The original laminate top for this table was replaced with another one from the same period (which was matched closely to Herman Miller's "Warm Cherry" option).The last photo shows an example of this table with the original top.
Starting in 1957, the Eames Contract Base series was designed specifically for smaller café or side tables to provide stability, while maintaining a minimalist footprint.The Chrome Star Base is made of brushed cast aluminum with a black shaft mounting plate, and it still has the original adjustable glides under the feet.Eames side & coffee tables of this height were initially produced to complement their Aluminum Group loungers and recliners in commercial and public spaces.My Seller Details:
