1961 Topps Bob Gibson #211 – St. Louis Cardinals
An early-career card of one of the most intimidating pitchers in baseball history. The 1961 season became Bob Gibson’s first true breakout year in St. Louis, as he went 13–12 with a 3.24 ERA, 166 strikeouts, 10 complete games and two shutouts — the beginning of the dominant run that would eventually produce two Cy Young Awards, two World Series MVPs and a place in Cooperstown.
This copy has strong color, very nice centering and excellent overall eye appeal. The main condition issue is a small crease visible along the left side of the card, along with light vintage corner and edge wear. The surface otherwise presents very nicely.
The reverse is clean and fully readable, showing Gibson’s major and minor league record through 1960 along with the classic Topps cartoon panels.
A sharp-looking raw example of an important early Bob Gibson card, with the crease clearly shown in the photographs.
Card is raw and ungraded. Please review all photographs closely for exact condition.
The exact card pictured is the card you will receive.
