Authentic 1983 Austrian military wooden ammunition crate, model M-BK111AA and commonly known as a Patronenkasten 58.
The original German-language label identifies it as a container for 720 rounds of 7.62 mm S-Patronen intended for the Austrian StG 58 rifle. This listing is for the EMPTY WOODEN CRATE ONLY. No ammunition, firearm, ordnance or other contents are included.
This is an impressive Cold War-era storage and display piece with extensive original character. It retains its German military labels, UN 0012 small-arms cartridge label, orange 1.4S hazard diamond, stenciled markings, twin metal latches, wooden runners and fabric web carrying handles. The heavy service staining gives it an especially strong military-surplus and industrial appearance.
