Ahh Yes! the scarce and infamous Sears Canada MSV, pretty much considered one of the Joe \"grails\", if not just \"the grail\". Well, let\'s break it down and see what we got.
What\'s Original and TrueSears Canada MSV:It\'s basically just the jeep, so the roiling chassis, tires, wheels, body and gas tank cage are original. But, note that the roll cage has broken/separated form the hood (see pic 8,9). One could glue it or just leave it, as it displays just beautifully as is.
What\'s Not Original and True Sears Canada MSV parts:1-The two gas cans. Probably from the 88 Tiger Sting. See pic 22, the inside has stampings 1 & 2, so not OG to the Canadian MSV.2-The double ma deuce gun & turret. The gun is painted gloss black, and the turret is a green vamp painted black (pic 22). Probably just be better to replace the gun with an grey 83 vamp one, as that\'s more original looking.3-Front push bar is from another jeep, as this one has two headlights on it.4-Missing steering wheel. Do what others do, replace it with a 84 Stinger steering wheel.5-The three missiles. Obviously form the 1983 Action Force S.A.S. MMS, but the gray camo just looks too cool for school, and has that 80\'s cold war feel to it. See pic 24, as all three missiles appear to be in remarkably great shape, and the pic shows all sides of each missile.6-The green computer stand on the MMS trailer. Obviously from the 82/82 MMS.7-Missing the computer from the MMS trailer.
What\'s Not Sure if it\'s Original and True Sears Canada MSV Parts or Not:1-The actual missile trailer. It could be a 83 Sears Canada trailer or it could be the1985 Sears USA Cobra\'s Sentry and Missile System SMS. Do your research and make your best guess, as there\'s enough info out there that an argument could be made for either case. Note though that on each side (left and right) of the MMS, there is some discoloration where it appears decals were removed and plastic cleaned, which just sorta left the plastic a little dull in that area. Not horribly noticeable, but it\'s there (see pics 20, 21).
If I missed something, please reach out and let me know, but I noted everything to the best of my knowledge. The jeep is a little dirty, with years of dust and some residual Canadian mud/dirt in areas, so a good afternoon of TLC would probably make it pop even more! The axles do have some rust (pic 12) and the rear wheels/axle rolls slightly asymmetrically, so could be a slightly bent axle or an elongated wheel hole to the axle. Either case, the wheels are firmly attached to the axle and it doesn\'t really roll bad at all, but it is something to note.
At the end of the day, it\'s definitely a GRAIL piece that is super HTF. Though some parts are not OG, the chassis, wheels, tires and body are original, and that\'s\' probably 97% of \'grailness\' there.Please review the pics for exact product description and judge yourself.
