Original Vintage 1992 East Side Marriott Restaurant Menu 525 Lexington Avenue New York City Manhattan
The New York Marriott East Side occupied the Shelton Hotel at 525 Lexington Avenue, a 34-story tower designed by Arthur Loomis Harmon for developer James T. Lee and reported as the tallest hotel in the world when it opened in 1924. It began as a men\'s club-style apartment hotel of about 1,200 rooms with a swimming pool, squash courts and a solarium, admitting women later in 1924, and Georgia O\'Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz moved into a 30th-floor apartment in 1925 and lived there twelve years, repeatedly depicting the building in their work. Closed in 1971, the tower reopened after renovations as the Halloran House in 1979 and became a Marriott property in early 1990, the name it carried when this menu was in service. The hotel closed in March 2020 and did not reopen.
It measures 14\" x 6.5\" closed and 19.5\" x 14\" open.
