The pack inserted 98 Bowman\'s Best Refractors were limited to 400 serial numbered sets made. This was a proof run without the serial # stamped, likely just a few cards like this that were held back by Topps in case any were returned for damage. Everything else is identical to the pack inserted card save for the serial.
Griffey Refractors have gone vertical in the past year, with raw 98 Bowman\'s Best Refractors presently in the $600 range as of June 2026. There are 400 of those. This one has an estimated 5 or fewer in existence. It was graded by BGS with 3 Pristine Subgrades! 10 for centering, 10 for corners, and 10 for edges. The Surface grade was a brutal 4, making the overall grade a 5. There are no creases, but it looks like there is a scratch on the front surface that I initially thought was part of the card design. A harsh grade for sure, but this rare refractor would look great kept in the slab or cracked out. Thanks for looking.
This sale is for the card as detailed in the title and shown in the accompanying scan(s). The card shown in the scan is the exact one you will receive, it is in NM-MT condition unless noted otherwise.
