The base set is 200 cards, made up of 140 base cards and two subsets, 10 checklists and 50 short-printed rookies. Insert sets listed on the box include Stat Line, Fan Club, Rated Rookies, Medalists, Elite, Gridiron Kings, Executive Producers, Zoning Commission, Red-Zoning Commission, Private Signings, Rookie Gridiron Kings, and All-Time Gridiron Kings. Several of these are sequentially numbered, and the Private Signings and All-Time Gridiron Kings inserts are autographed.
The 1999 rookie class includes Ricky Williams, Edgerrin James, Torry Holt, Donovan McNabb, Daunte Culpepper, and Champ Bailey.
The box front pictures Terrell Davis. The back carries the Donruss copyright, the Players Inc and NFL licensing marks, and the barcode.
