Magnificent marine from the end of the 19th century similar to the great French impressionist painter Eugene Boudin (1824-1898). This marine depicts a harbor scene by moonlight with its ships and boats with sailors in the port of Honfleur in Normandy.
This original, signed oil on canvas is well worth admiring for its composition and its gradations of gray and brown, which perfectly capture a full moon night in this port.

The painting is signed E. Larche lower right, but we have not found any biography of this painter. This could be a common pseudonym in the late 19th century to avoid paying the art dealer. This is the well-known case of Eugene Galien-Laloue, who had more than five pseudonyms.
