Mytee Products brings this diaphragm pump to transfer diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) or other water-based solutions such as AdBlue, anti-freezes, and other related fluids. Our electric DEF transfer pump is ideal for transferring DEF safely from storage containers into the vehicle’s DEF tank. Find the other essential information on this electric DEF pump below:
- Size & Compatibility: This DEF pump is 13-1/4" long and 4-3/4" wide. This diaphragm pump is mainly useful for transferring diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). It can also be used to transfer other water-based solutions such as AdBlue, automotive urea, antifreeze, detergents, and water.
- Capacity: The DEF transfer pump operates on a 115V AC (110V+-10V) power supply. The motor is rated at 1/2 horsepower (≈373 watts), providing reliable power output for fluid transfer. At this rating, the pump draws approximately 2 amperes of current at 110V, allowing it to run efficiently on standard electrical circuits without overloading breakers. The diaphragm transfer pump delivers a flow rate of 10.57 US gallons per minute (≈40 liters per minute), ensuring fast and consistent dispensing of DEF and compatible fluids.
- Durable Construction: The transfer pump’s body is polypropylene made, which protects it from corrosion as it does not react with DEF. It also makes the pump lightweight and portable. The seals, such as gasket, O-ring, and diaphragm, are made of Viton and EPDM to ensure the durability and leak-proof operation of the pump.
- Pump Design: This is a diaphragm transfer pump, which means that a flexible diaphragm moves back and forth inside it. It creates suction on one side and pushes liquid on the other side.
- Application: This electric DEF transfer pump is ideal for moving DEF from storage containers into the vehicle’s DEF tanks. It helps you to safely and efficiently transfer DEF into the vehicle without any mess. It can also be used to transfer compatible industrial fluids in workshops, garages, and service centers.
Safety Considerations
- Always use the pump with water-based fluids only (DEF, AdBlue, urea, antifreeze, detergents); never use it with diesel, gasoline, or other flammable liquids.
- Check the duty cycle: do not run the pump continuously for more than 30 minutes to avoid motor overheating.
- Ensure electrical connections are dry and grounded; avoid water contact with the plug or outlet.
- Keep hands, loose clothing, and hair away from moving parts while the pump is operating.
- Wear gloves and safety glasses when handling DEF to avoid skin or eye irritation.
How to Use It
- Place the pump near your DEF container and connect the inlet hose to the drum/tote.
- Attach the outlet hose to the vehicle’s DEF tank or dispensing nozzle.
- Plug the power cord into a standard 110V outlet and switch on the pump.
- Monitor the fluid flow, filling only the required amount; turn off the pump when done.
- Follow the 30 min ON / 30 min OFF duty cycle to avoid overheating.

- Rinse the pump and hoses with clean water if switching between different fluids.
- Periodically inspect hoses and seals for cracks, leaks, or DEF crystallization buildup.
- Store the pump in a dry, clean area away from extreme temperatures.
