Sarouk rugs are built on a cotton foundation with good quality wool cut to a medium length making up the pile. The original older, and most expensive rugs, are hard woven with top quality lustrous wool which is cut very short. Color is made up from strong red, blue, burnt orange, black, ivory or champagne.
