My hens are blue and black.According to the Maran's breeding chart, you can expect all three types of chickens.My flock is pasture raised and have full run of 6 acres every other day. I'm assuming a lighter ones come from the blue hens. But you will get a mixture of light and dark eggs. So far all of my light eggs have hatched out as Hens. The dark eggs have been 50/50.
