I'm going through a huge collection of rocks, minerals, crystals, ore, possible meteorites, and gems from an estate. These seem to have been collected in the mid 1900s in the western United States.I'm doing my best to take pictures and identify everything but I really don't have a clue. So whoever buys these will probably come away with a lot of value.Please be careful in handling these items since I do not know with certainty what each of them are. There is possible toxicity and radioactivity.This is just one of many lots to come, but I would also be interested in selling the whole thing to someone if they could give me 25% of what they think they can resell it for.Here are my best guesses based on books and AI on some of the items in this listing ( some items came with detailed descriptions and others have been identified by my local rock shop, but I have too many to id them all.This item is a natural crystal mineral specimen, most likely a variety of calcite or apophyllite with stilbite.possible copper or gold ore in matrix.
This specimen is a pegmatite rock containing a distinct mix of co-crystallized minerals, most notably quartz and wolframite. the black minerals are probably not wolframite though, probably something more common.amazonite from Teller county Colorado. there are a bunch of these that all look similar that I split up. there was a tag on a box identifying them as such.pegmatite rock matrix hosting multiple minerals. Pegmatites are coarse-grained igneous rocks that often act as host environments for unique crystalline mineral clusters.The specimen primarily features three distinct components:Quartz: The translucent to milky white-gray crystalline mass that makes up the bulk of the rock matrix.Metallic Minerals: The dark silvery-gray to gunmetal metallic veins cutting through the center share strong visual characteristics with minerals like molybdenite, galena, or stibnite.Mica: The highly reflective, flaky, and layered sheets interspersed around the metallic core are consistent with muscovite micanative copper believed to be from Arizona. there are two more of these. the other two look extremely similar. one of the others was wrapped with a tagged description saying it was purchased in Arizona.
