A one-piece brass case with thick bevelled glass to all windows, a slender base, and a full width escapement window below a quality one-piece carry handle, all nicely aged and in good condition. An enamel dial with a pair of steel spaded hands.A fine eight-day striking movement; this operates with a quality jewelled platform lever escapement (later Swiss type), all working nicely and striking correctly.
Desjardin was known for making high-quality miniatures, mignonettes, etc. This is not a miniature but a smaller than average carriage timepiece, fitted with a gong striking movement. The clock has a double-ended brass key
