As with our previous version of the SuperProbe, this SuperProbe2 conforms to the original Carlson circuit design, implementing a versatile non-contact very high gainelectronic probe for investigating just about any kind of electrical signal from audio to RF. The design is well proven and constructed by many DIYers.

Here is a great UT video of Carlson using the SuperProbe to locate a noisy component inside a complex transceiver.He makes it seem so easy, and with the SuperProbe it Kit This kit includes the main PCBs, (including all the SMD parts) the 2 pots and protection lamp,and many of the needed support parts like 3-conductor probe cable, knobs, power switches, probe-amp jack &plug, power LEDwire &shrink tube, and now coax probe tip.There are many other components needed to construct a complete probe and amplifier.The kit includes all of the through-hole and SMD components used to assemble the PCBsas well as the 2 pots used in the amplifier. It DOES NOT include cases, packaging, screws,batteries, speaker, or anything else that might be needed to construct a complete SuperProbe.(Essentially everything within the dotted boxes labeled MK2 on the included schematics is in the kit!)You have the option to construct the PCBs exactly as Carlson specified, or implement the improvements we discuss in the instructions.These PCBs REQUIREASSEMBLY.The AssemblyWhile there are a few through-hole & panel mounted components, all of the remaining parts are 0805/1206/SOT23 SMD parts.Soldering such components requires specific equipment, soldering tools, solder, tweezers, optics, skill and patience.Follow the included instructions in detail. Schematic details are included and are identical to the original design.

Some of the listing photos show a particular implementation in a very compact package.Such compactness is not necessary, but demonstrates what can be achieved. Photos may include componentsnot on the bill-of-material, and are included as suggestions for completing the probe.
