The second picture is a lovely textured cowl made with one skein of Alba. It was a design by a shop owner, and the pattern is no longer available. It is a combination of knits and purls that create a lovely texture. The third picture is a wrap designed by me. It used 2 skeins of Alba, and one skein Poema Alpaca. I am still working out the pattern instructions, and I will update when it is published. It will publish to Ravelry.
Jody Long has been a popular knitwear designer for a number of years, and a few years ago he entered the yarn design arena. Alba was one of his first lines, and is the one with the largest color collection. I have grown the selection of this yarn to 24 colors and recently finally had an opportunity to work with this yarn. It is a delight to work with, and I hope to have a sample photo to share soon. This yarn is a little on the rustic side as is usual with tweeds, and I have encountered a small amount of vegetable matter.
This yarn has a composition of 50% Merino Wool, 25% Alpaca, and 25% Viscose. It is a DK weight yarn which is perfect for most sweater patterns, especially for Fair Isle color work knitting.. I shied away from tweed yarns for a long time but have finally embraced their beauty. The flecks of tweed add more texture to the appearance of the fabric. Each 100 gram skein has 382 yards of yarn.
