Scarce Hard to find antique Alice\'s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll Cassel and Co. Ltd. La Belle Sauvage London , E.C. 430-218 illustrated throughout with over one hundred and twelve black and white, in-text and full page illustrations and an additional eight vibrant color plates by Charles Robinson. The Charles Robinson edition of Alice\'s Adventures in Wonderland is filled with his elegant, imaginative vision of Carrol\'s world. Even the original blue cloth binding joins the adventure, with Alice, the White Rabbit, and the Mad Hatter gathered at the tea party on the cover, and the smoking Caterpillar on the spine.
The book does not have a publishing date but was published sometime during the circa 1900 - 1920 period.
The condition is good with these issues observed. The cloth covering along the top edge of the spine is heavily frayed, torn, and starting to unravel, exposing the underlying binding material. The front and back cover show some color fading and soil due to age and handling.
Corner Bumping and Fraying: The top left corner of the cover is significantly worn down, crushed, and frayed, with the protective cloth completely worn away to expose the cardboard underneath.
Surface Scuffs and Soiling: The spine and front cover exhibit general discoloration, surface grime, and light scuffing consistent with long-term handling and shelf wear.
Material Degradation: The edges of the cover show minor chipping and minor fiber separation, typical for antique books of this era. The plates are all present. The front illustration does not have the tissue covering. There is some light foxing here and there and an occasional crease. There is no writing or scribbles in the inside cover or pages.
