All four of the major books on Parker Shotguns. And one is signed by the author. For Sale

This is a rare set of four (5) hardcover books they are… \"The Parker Story” (2 editions) in addition to a signed first edition copy of Ed Muderlak’s “Parker Guns \"The Old Reliable\"”. Also, a first edition copy of the first major book on the subject: “Parker; America’s Finest Shotgun” by Peter Johnson. This book was once considered “the bible” And “The Parker Gun” by Larry Baer.
I’ve also included a rare, original copy of the instruction book for the Parker company’s rifle game called “Gofort”.
“The Parker Story” books are also 1st (only) edition and limited to only 3800 copies. They have been stored in the original shipping box. Unfortunately there was two years between the release of the two volumes. So volume 1 spent two years without the box as a cover for protection. This is why there are a couple of small water drop marks the cover. I promise remainder of the the two volumes are in absolutely pristine condition.
It was published by The Parker Story Joint Venture Group in 1998/2000.
These books are very special and focus on virtually the entire history of the Parker Bros. Company in Meriden Connecticut, as well as an extensive look into the Parker family. And obviously, the world famous shotguns their company made. This makes these books an invaluable resource for anyone collecting Parker shotguns. “The Parker Story “ even includes serial numbers and descriptions of many of the guns when they were ordered.
Not to mention; enthusiasts of antique and rare collectible books.
The authors of The Parker Story, include Roy Gunther, William L. Mullins, Louis C. Parker lll (actual descendant), Charles Price, and Daniel Phillip Côté, AKA Dan Côté of “Double Gun Journal” fame.
These four books together are an invaluable collection because “The Johnson Book” was the first book written on The Parker Gun. (1961). For a long time it was considered The “bible”. Then the other books came out and were supposedly “bibles” too. I’m happy to offer a signed copy of Ed Murdoch’s book too.
For years there were a lot of assumptions. Everyone wanted the factory records from Remington. But they (Remington) would never give them up. In fact many records were lost because employees of Remington used to throw them in the puddles on the floor of the factory so they wouldn’t have to stand in water!!!!
But when the factory was contacted about “The Parker Story” and they were told that an actual Parker family descendant was going to be involved; they relented and released the records.
And that ended all the rumors 321 A1 Specials, NOT!!! Only 79. And the rumors of the only “Invisible” serial #200,000… not true, there were actually two!!!
But wait!!!! not verified until after the publication of the second book in 2000. They proved there were three!!!!
So there is still a lot of information out there.
The comparison between Peter Johnson’s “bible” and The (real) Parker Story is “not even close” to say the least. The sheer volume of information in the latter, is an obvious indication of the difference.
