One side features the traditional double-headed eagle of the Scottish Rite, surmounted by a black enamel triangle bearing the number 32, signifying the 32nd Degree. The banner beneath the eagle bears the Latin motto “SPES MEA IN DEO EST,” translated as “My Hope Is in God.”
The opposite side incorporates elaborate Rose Croix symbolism, including a pelican feeding its young beneath a white rose, with red, green and black enamel accents.
The piece displays unusually detailed, multi-layered construction with engraved feathers, architectural geometric elements, enamel panels and finely worked symbolic decoration.
