Antique 1600s Edo Period Japanese Cast Iron Dragon Tea Kettle Ming Dynasty Lid:

This is a very early example of a Japanese cast-iron teapot. Unfortunately I have seen better days. The spout of the teapot has been broken and one of the tabs to hold the handle to the teapot has also been broken. Otherwise, the teapot has no cracks or other chips. I believe that the lid on it is made out of a Ming dynasty porcelain piece with a Japanese tea pot lid handle attached to it. The lid also has many chips. It has an image of a dragon with three claws holding a shell on it. Probably from around the 15 to 1600 possibly even older than that.
