Antique 1838 The First Book of History: For Children and Youth by the author of Peter Parley’s Tales. Early American children’s school book in revised edition with engraved illustrations and maps, published in Boston by Charles J. Hendee and G. W. Palmer and Company.
Condition is well worn from age and use. Covers show heavy rubbing, edge wear, corner wear, and surface loss. Spine has significant wear. Pages show foxing, age spotting, discoloration, and some staining. There is an 1839 ownership inscription inside. Binding shows wear and some separation/fragility, but the book remains an appealing antique example. Please review all photos carefully for condition.
