Up for sale is this lovely antique 1838 manuscript penmanship book/sketch book belonging to one Abel Wagstaff. The book is softcover, bound in plain green paper wrappers. It contains 18 leaves, 16 of which have handwritten or hand drawn content. The first and last leaves are acting like endpapers and are blank. The content is written on the rectos only. The first page contains a beautiful and ornate hand drawn calligraphy title page. Eight of the pages have original pencil drawings and the other seven contain handwritten penmanship exercises in fountain pen. The pages are generally nice and clean with just some light wear. The book is an oblong volume which measures approximately 15 inches wide and 9 inches high. It is British in origin. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
