Up for sale is a magnificent, highly collectible piece of late 19th-century Dutch ceramic art. This 7.25-inch cabinet plate was hand-painted at the prestigious De Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) factory during the highly sought-after early \"Joost Thooft\" revival era.The front features a beautifully detailed, blue-and-white tonal portrait of Elisabeth Bas. It is faintly inscribed on the front right side \"naar Rembrandt\" (after Rembrandt), documenting the 17th-century old master painting that inspired it.Very good antique condition.
