Antique 1890s Tintype Woman & Baby Original Paper Sleeve Handwritten Camping Not For Sale

Original antique late-19th-century tintype photograph showing a woman holding a baby.The woman wears an elaborate period hat and dark dress with a large white front detail, while the baby is dressed in a bonnet and decorative clothing.What makes this example especially interesting is the surviving original folding paper sleeve/mount. The inside contains an old handwritten note apparently describing where the photograph was taken and mentioning that they were camping for two days. Some of the handwriting is difficult to decipher, so please review the close-up photographs for your own interpretation.Estimated date: late 1880s–1890s.The tintype remains mounted behind the decorative red printed opening. The image has good contrast and the faces remain quite clear.Condition shows age-related wear including surface marks, scratches and spotting to the tintype. The original paper sleeve has edge wear, creasing, small tears and losses, particularly along the outer edge. Handwriting is faded but partially readable.
