Obituary:
Dr. Emelius C. Dudley, veteran Chicago physician, died yesterday at his home, 242 East Walton, of apoplexy. He suffered a stroke about six months ago and had been confined to his home since. He was 78 years old.
A native of Massachusetts, Dr. Dudley came to Chicago in 1875 to practice medicine. From 1901 to 1906 he was a member of the board of education. During the world war he was a major in the medical reserve corps. For some years Dr. Dudley was a professor of gynecology at Northwestern University and also consulting gynecologist at St. Luke\'s hospital.
In 1922 he went to China as a visiting professor at the Yale School of Medicine. On his return in 1923 he resigned his active practice and became professor emeritus of gynecology at Northwestern. He was the author of several medical works.
